Carmichael Winter Sanctuary

What is the Carmichael Winter Sanctuary?

The Carmichael Winter Sanctuary is a rotating shelter for homeless individuals in Carmichael, and is supported by Sacramento Self-Help Housing and various other faith communities and partner organizations. The 2019 – 2020 shelter runs from December 29th to February 29th. Local churches will provide a dry place to sleep, hot dinner and breakfast, secure overnight storage for small items and bicycles, and friendly companionship.

How do I Volunteer?

We are looking for individuals who have a compassionate heart for others and are willing to donate their time to help organize the shelter. We offer different duties and different amounts of involvement to meet the individual needs of our volunteers. Groups are preferred.

We are also looking for churches or similar facilities to donate space to house a week or longer of the shelter.
